Sunderland run completed 15/06/08 - Very tough and some hilly parts! Even had part of the run on the beach! The sand was very hard to run on!
Ashford run completed 29/06/08 - A hot day, so tough when the sun beats down on your head! Must wear a hat next time! (It was cloudy when I started though).
Great Capital Run completed 21/07/08 - A mix of cloud and hot sunshine. Managed to do a constant pace from start to finish, so no walking!
Great Wales Run completed 27/07/08 - The hottest day! Burning sunshine, nowhere to hide! People were keeling over in the heat! I wore a hat but still got a bit of sunstroke! Also burnt the back of my calves! Great place to run though and enjoyed it. VERY VERY HOT WEATHER! Cardiff was great. It was a very hard run as the sun was beating down. Course was meant to be flat, but there were a couple of inclines that were long and took there toll a bit! Posted 10:29:38 29.07.2008
The Great South Run 10 mile race I have been looking forward to doing this race, as I currently run this distance as a minimum every Sunday. However a few days before the race I noted the weather on the TV!
The Day came and it was dark, wet, windy and got out of bed. Having cleaned my teeth and went to have a bath, my hub told me that it was only 4:15am and not the 5:15am that I thought it was. The clocks went back! I knew this but my mobile didn't auto update even though it was set to (I use it for my alarm you see)!
Anyway, when we arrived in Portsmouth it was hammering down and windy, very cold! It was quite funny really! The time came at last and set off on the race. The rain had eased off a little, so started to peel off the layers of gloves and jacket but kept my hat on. I felt ok, the first two miles are always the hardest whilst you warm up. All in all it was a great run. I felt that miles 7-8 seemed to be 10 miles long on their own, but once passed that mark I knew I was on the home straight! It had started to rain again, so was now quite wet! I was also behind two guys dressed as Emily Howard and the other "I am a lady...bloke" for a while, however did manage to overtake them! Then later they appeared again towards the end! I had 200 meters to go and they were along side, so I had the choice of continuing like that and having them in my finish photo, or thinking I must beat two men in drag...so I chose the latter...and from nowhere I started to sprint, sprint like I was a superhero! It felt good, even though I has already ran close to 10 miles! I managed to over take about 20 people! The race was over.
The crows were fantastic. I would certainly do this race again, bring it on! I now want to run it faster!

Royal London Parks Half Marathon! Yesterday I ran the Royal London Parks Half Marathon. It was a very hot day considering it was mid October! I completed it! Yay! I was fine for the first few miles with a nice pace, then towards mile 8-9 started to get a slight stitch but pushed throught it to the end. Even managed a sprint finish!
Managed to raise my target of £150 for Get Kid's Going!
As for today, I feel fine! x Posted 11:53:19 13.10.2008;
Training in the rain! Last Sunday I did my last long run before this weekend's 1/2 marathon. I ran just over 11 miles. It was raining and had strong winds! I was soaked through! I kept going though! It seemed to take forever! I don't think the rain and wind helped with my time! Looking forward to running/slipping over in the winter with snow and ice to contend with! If I am to complete the marathon in April, that is what I am going to have to do!
This week ran 7 miles on Tuesday and 5.38 ye [>>>] Posted 10:50:02 10.10.2008
Nike+ Human Race On Sunday evening I ran the Nike+ Human Race 10k at Wembley. Around 20,000 runners in London raced othger countries in the world all in the Nike red T-shirts. We started in the stadium after a music concert and of course the thunder and lightning! It was dark and pouring down with rain (it kept me cool). The next race is the half marathon in October! Training is going quite well, although slightly twisted my knee last week by treading on an empty bottle that was in the floor (oops). Posted 20:12:12 02.09.2008;
Training - long Sunday run looked nice out to start with, but as soon as stepped out of front door it started to snow! Only lightly at first, but during the run it got heavier and heavier! At 7 miles it had turned into a blizzard and started to settle! Run mileage 14.35, my longest run to date. Felt fine most of the way. Very hilly.
